    Description

Small yet Powerful! Collects 3 times more light than a 76mm telescope!

This bright National Geographic 114/500 Compact Telescopeis a Dobsonian telescope for stargazers, With its 114mm aperture, this telescope collects three times more light than a 76mm telescope. Therefore, fainter objects become more visible, and you can see greater detail of the moon and planets. Nevertheless, the telescope is very compact and sets up quickly, with no assembly required, so it can be transported to your favourite night-sky-observation location easily. Use is very intuitive, without compromising stability. The built-in accessory tray keeps the eyepieces handy, and the red-dot finder makes locating objects simple.

Embrace the infinity of the cosmos and become the ultimate explorer!

As a Grandfather this is the classic beginners scope to get children interested in Astronomy. The instruction book does not tell how to align the red dot scope so You Tube is essential and once learned,it is very easy.I have invested in a 4mm Plossl eyepiece although the scope comes well fitted with lenses to get you started. The plastic feet don`t grip on the table and swivel around without staying stationary so they must be replaced with rubber feet for perfect grip.Simple ! I have seen how well the Red Dot works and I would highly recommend this as an important part of this scopes features.I can`t wait for the good weather and clear skies.Sitting on a shelf it looks the part and I don`t think a tripod mounted scope would have the same charm sitting in my lounge room. Thanks to OZscopes and their super fast delivery service.

Fantastic beginners scope - Review by

    Fantastic beginners scope

Jupiter and Saturn although small gives enough detail to enjoy looking at. Very portable and easy to use

    Although some cons:
    - finderscope is not aligned correctly, hence after you find your first object, look through the finder scope to know where the real alignment is
    - no tripod hence need to find places with a flat surface to put this on

    Otherwise really good beginners telescope
