Celestron CGEM II 1100 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope
The Celestron CGEM II 1100 Computerized Telescope features a high-end 11" Schmidt Cassegrain OTA with the brand new CGEM II mount. The outstanding CGEM II mount is capable of sturdily carrying Celestron’s top-quality SCT optical tubes with up to 18kg payload. This makes it perfect for both imaging and visual observing purposes. The large Altitude and Azimuth adjustment knobs are specifically designed for quick and easy access which makes polar alignment adjustment come in handy. The internal RA and DEC motor wiring provide a clean look and an easy and trouble-free set-up.
The CGEM II series aims to make things easier with the All-Star Polar Alignment procedure, allowing you to choose any bright star in the sky, and the software will do the rest of the job to assist with polar alignment. Another reason why the CGEM II is great for astrophotography is the Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PPEC). This feature is meant to reduce the worm gears periodic errors and ensure accurate tracking during the astro-imaging. For objects near the Meridian (which is an imaginary line passing from North to South), the CGEM II will track well past the Meridian for uninterrupted imaging through the most ideal part of the sky.
