Awesome bionoculars - Review by Ross Gordon
Overall Score
Celestron SkyMaster 15x70 Binocular are awesome, providing big bang for buck for beginner binocular astronomy. 70mm gathers lots of light and theyre are surprisingly lightweight for their size and a joy to handle. There are slight slight color and focus aberrations around the edges of the field of view - but these are insignificant. A Tripod is HIGHLY recommended to fully appreciate these binoculars also. Nevertheless, these are awesome binoculars and I recommend them without reservation. (Posted on 27/03/11)

Pros: light, easy to carry, price, portability, light weight, user friendly, Good price, Decent glass, Cheap, portable, quality +++, Beautifully crisp image!

Good price and easy to use, image is good. - Review by David
Overall Score
i think that the optics are very good, and the focusing is very good but very sensitive as one would expect with this high a magnification. The wide field of view makes for especially good nature observing, but they are great for a quick scan of the sky before I whip out the telescope and even some nights I use them all night with a good Manfrotto tripod. Pros: price, portability, user friendly, Good price, Decent glass, Positive adjustments
Cons: May encourage you to buy a big telescope!

Impressed! - Review by Margaret
Overall Score
I was advised that binoculars are the best way to begin stargazing, other than the naked eye. These binoculars have proved to be an excellent choice with ease of use and portability.
Whilst very happy with quick gazing and scanning at home I will invest in a tripod for extended use when out with fellow stargazers.
A big thank you to OzScopes for their prompt delivery of this internet purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:
I would like to get this product for both myself and my 7 year old son. I think this is a good starting point. I wanted to know if can place it on a tripod and if there is a way to connect a DSLR?
A:
Yes you can place it on a tripod. The Skymaster 15x70 already comes with a tripod adapter so you'll just need a tripod.
Unfortunately I don't think there's a way you can connect it to a DSLR. There isn't an adapter in the market that can let you use your DSLR with binoculars... but I think you can use two tripods (one for the binoculars, one for your DSLR) and adjust their heights so that the camera lens looks right through one eyepiece of the binoculars for photography to eliminate shakiness etc. But unfortunately, there's isn't any adapter that lets you photograph through binoculars with your DSLR.
Q:
Can you please tell me the cost of the appropriate tripod for these 4 binoculars?
A:
The Celestron SkyMaster 15x70 Binoculars would be suitable for almost all of the full-sized tripods in our range (http://www.ozscopes.com.au/accessories/mounts-tripods#dir=asc&order=price). You can go for any of the following. They are all $149.95 each.

Q:
What is the weight of the Celestron Skymaster 15x70 Binocular?
A:
Weight is 1.36Kg.
