CPC 1100 - Review by Damian Couzoff
For the price, being only $700 more than the CPC 9.25,the CPC 1100 was well worth buying.Alot longer focal length, and bigger aperture captures more detail, and higher magnification can be used.Lifting the scope onto the tripod is easy ,as it is only at waist height. The finder took a fair bit of fiddling to center with the eyepiece, goto and tracking are excellent. The GPS will show GPS LINKED once it has finished, only about 3 minutes and its ready to align, using the different alignment methods.I have added a losmandy dovetail and 1 kg counterweight to the bottom of the scope,as l am using a crayford 2 inch 10 to 1 focuserand 2 inch quartz star diaganol. The 1.25 visual back and 1.25 diaganol can be used without the dovetail and counterweight, they are supplied with the scope.I do recommend this scope, its also fastar compatible, and yields bright crisp views. Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
Is a larger telescope available (larger than the 11 inch) for sale? Can you provide details please.
A:
The CPC 1100 is the biggest cassegrain telescope we have listed on our website, but we can get bigger scopes in from our supplier. (We do offer 12" configurations of dobsonian telescopes which can be found on our website here: http://www.ozscopes.com.au/telescope/dobsonian-telescope).
We can offer up the 14" apertures for cassegrain telescopes.
If you are interested, we can get the Celestron CGEM Pro 1400 into stock for you. This is a 14" telescope and will give you 60-70% more light gathering capacity when compared to an 11" aperture. Pricing for this scope would be around the $15,000 -$16,000 mark.
We can also offer the Celestron CGEM PRO 1400 Faststar which has additional lens coatings which is about $200 more than the standard model. Details can be found on the Celestron website here:

The CGE Pro 1400 HD is another 14" telescope we could source for you. You can find details of it on the celestron site here:
http://www.celestron.com/c3/product.php?ProdID=553
We can also offer the Edge HD 1400 Optical Tube Assembly. Pricing would be around the $20,000 mark just for the tube. You would need to buy a mount in addition to this. You can find information for this on the Celestron site here:
