Great mid range binoculars - Review by Matt
The first thing I noticed was that they were a bit more light weight than I had expected which is good as they are easy to hold up at the night sky without your arms getting tired to quickly. They produce a very good sharp image ( the Moon looks fantastic with all its craters etc ) as does Mars and the milky way. These work well for people like me who live in more built up areas with light pollution with their eye exit pupil of 4.7mm. The tripod is quite small, only about 30cm high, so I've put it on a table outside when I'm looking at the stars. A bigger tripod, maybe 1m high, would be a lot better with these binoculars. Overall I'm very happy with these Barska 15x70mm X-Trail Binoculars. They are great value with a big magnification and clear sharp image!.... I don't regret buying these!!! (Posted on 9/03/10)

Q:
Looking for sharp view binoculars to look over township below from high hill. The thought of the added bonus of being able to sky look at night is appealing, Having read references even though wasn't what originally had in mind! Are these Barska 15x70 X-Trail Binoculars w/Tripod good also for gazing down onto rivers, boats, towns etc from hill?
A:
These would definitely be the best pair for you. The 15x70 is a good mix of Night sky and land viewing binoculars. The only downside to this that they are fairly heavy.
