    Great first scope.
    Overall Score
Perfect telescope for the beginner and the price is reasonable.

Have had a few nights that where clear skies and enjoyed looking at the moon.
Looking forward to many more nights looking up.

Yes you could pay more and get better but for someone just starting out it does what's it meant to and a good piece of equipment to start out with.

After going to a local observatory I became inquisitive and decided to buy myself a telescope, not wanting to spend a lot of money I surfed the net for a site from which to make my purchase, thats when I found Oz Scopes. Then it was a matter of which one,I compared prices and specs and decided on a Celestron 114mm EQ..
Once it was received I set about setting it up ,which I found to very easy,I have only been able to use it a couple of times due to too much cloud and light. But what I have been able to see amazes me.. I couldn't be happier with my purchase .

    I Love it :)
    Overall Score
I bought this as my first telescope 3 weeks ago. I find it easy to assemble as I found a video on Youtube. It was really helpful. I even tried memorising the steps even before I got the actual telescope.. :)

After setting it up I was confused with all those directions with aligning the telescope with a bright star and stuff, I took it out one night and was really frustrated because I can't see anything. I tried using it during day time and jumped for joy after seeing a distant object. Through this I manage to fiddle with focusing the eye piece. After that it's so easy to find anything from a distance. That is during daytime.

After many cloudy nights I managed to get a clear sky tonight. I took it out hoping to see something this time. After fiddling with it I manage to see a star. It's just like a tiny dot of light. I then tried looking for the moon, It took me an hour to find it but It was worth all the pain. After seeing how clear and big the moon was I felt very accomplished. The telescope gave a very detailed surface of the moon. I was so happy.

After all those frustration I finally appreciate this telescope. I recommend it for first time users like me. And always remember that patience is a virtue :)

    Looks great but lacks performance

I love the design and look of the scope but the optics are rubbish! There are much better scopes on this site for around the same price. The tripod performs well which I will use to host a better optical tube. Review by Shano (Posted on 6/10/2017)

The instrument arrived surprisingly quickly, in good condition and ruggedly packaged. Setting up was almost a no-brainer with the clear instructions and colour photographs. First light was a projected image of the sun, showing great detail on a hand-held target.

Seeing in suburban Geelong is horrible but Luna, Venus and Jupiter showed beautifully later that night.

When we observe from our rural property I'll post an update.

    A Great First Scope
    Overall Score
The instrument arrived in very good time and in excellent condition. Setting up was easy with the clear step-by-step instructions illustrated with good quality photographs.

First light was about 30 minutes later after I had roughly aligned the mount. We observed Sol by projection onto a clipboard. Three sunspots on the limb (not sure which!) greeted us. Terrestrial viewing was clear and crisp.

Suburban Geelong has positively stinking seeing but the moon was absolutely awesome! I won't relate other observations until I've tried it on our dark sky rural block.

I was so very impressed with the customer service I received. If it had not of been for the lady that I spoke to I probably would not have bought the product. She was so helpful and had a hugh amount of knowledge. The scope was given as a present on the 13/12/10. It was easy to assemble and has a huge amount of user information provided. I would recommend OZScopes products in the future especially to the first time users. Review by Michelle Briscoe (Posted on 6/10/2017)
