Pulsar Apex LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Rifle Scope with QD112 Mount

Thermal imaging sights APEX XQ LRF is designed for the use on hunting rifles for both daylight and nighttime in inclement weather conditions (fog, smog, rain) to see through obstacles hindering detection of targets (branches, tall grass, thick bushes etc.). Thermal imaging is different from image intensifier tube based night vision riflescopes. It does not require an external source of light and is not affected by bright light exposure.

    Features

    Integrated Laser Rangefinder

Precision shooting starts with knowing the distance to your target. Apex LRF features an integrated laser rangefinder competent for capturing and displaying target distances accurately, within ±1 m, up to 1000 m.

    Selectable Reticles

The reticle is electronically displayed on the screen and is permanently located in the plane of the target image. Apex internal memory contains 10 reticles of different shapes and purposes. The colour of the reticle can be changed from black to white.

3 types of Zeroing Parameters Memorization

The software enables the user to save 3 points of impact for 3 different distances (types of weapon or cartridges), and each selection supports the use of a dedicated reticle.

    Picture In Picture

“Picture in Picture” function gives shooter with a possibility to display an additional image region on the screen which cont the ins 2x magnified image of a target and reticle. This allows seeing the image in the aiming area more precise. Additional region (precise aiming frame) is located in the top center part of the screen above the reticle. Obtaining only 1/10 of the whole screen area additional image region allows simultaneous use of the entire field of view for observation.

    Zeroing with FREEZE function

“One Shot Zeroing” in Apex models is complemented by an even more convenient zeroing function - “Freeze”: after making a zeroing shot it is enough to save a frame of a target in the memory of the riflescope and align reticle with point of impact looking at this frame without the necessity of keeping full immobility of a weapon.

    Display OFF function

Apex has display shut down function which can use in the cases of short breaks during the process of observation for preventing disclosure of the shooter by the light from the eyepiece. When display is turned off all other systems are still fully functional which enables instantaneous activation of the riflescope.

    Waterproof

With IPX7 (IEC 60529 standard) water protection standard Apex riflescopes can be operated in the conditions of precipitation of any intensity and withstand a short underwater submersion.

    Eyesafe eye relief

Apex thermal sights have a 67 mm eye relief - one of the best parameters in its class. The greater is the eye relief the less traumatic is the use of the scope, particularly on hunting weapons with considerable recoil.

    Calibration

It comes with 3 calibration modes: silent manual mode (“M”), automatic (“A”) and semiautomatic (“H”). The “A” mode provides calibration without user participation; process initiation (actuation of the shutter) takes place automatically. In the “H” mode, the user can decide if calibration is required based on the image quality. Manual calibration (“M”) is carried out by pressing the button when the lens cap is closed. The “M” mode is recommended for hunting, due to its silent operation..

    Operating modes

Offers 3 operating modes, providing the best possible image in specific viewing conditions: “Rocks” (enhanced contrast), “Forest” (low contrast) and “Identification” (improved rendering of hot objects’ details).

    Wide range of operating temperatures

Functional in low temperatures (-25°C) due to the frost-resistant AMOLED display employed in the unit.

    External power supply

Operation time can be significantly increased by using external power supplies (e.g., Pulsar EPS3/EPS5). When used in frosty weather, the power supply can be stored under the clothes.

    Wireless remote control

The use of wireless remote control allowing user to fulfill basic operations without resorting to standard controls.

    Rifle mount

The mounting holes in the base of the riflescope enable the mount to be installed in multiple positions, allowing the user to get the most suitable position.

    Video out

The thermal sights are equipped with a video out jack, allowing real time video recording with the use of external recording equipment.
