Meade LX85 8" Reflector Optical Tube Assembly (OTA)

The LX85 Series 8" Reflector OTA has a highly-reflective parabolic primary mirror to produce bright and clear views of difficult-to-see deep-sky objects. It features an 8" (200mm) aperture, 1000mm focal length, and f/5 focal ratio. The OTA is built with sturdy rack-and-pinion focuser that is outfitted with a 2" holder for eyepieces and accessories. The Newtonian Reflector OTA uses a convex meniscus lens, a large primary mirror, and a smaller secondary mirror. It limits reduces chromatic aberration and fringing, while allowing larger apertures versus refractor models. Also, the aluminum and SiO2 optical coatings on the primary parabolic mirror maximize light transmission through the light path to ensure bright and crisp views
