Kowa Prominar 10x56 DCF Binoculars with XD Lens
Retail Price $1220
The Kowa Promina 10x56 DCF ED Binoculars is jam-packed with features that will delight any beginner to experienced user. It offers a more powerful 10x magnification and very wide 56mm aperture with their PROMINAR lenses which provides you with high optical performance with high clarity and wide field of view so you don't miss out on anything. This model provides you with the widest objective lens and magnification size that Kowa currently produces so this is your best bet if you want the most vivid optical performance boasting high resolution, contrast and clarity by fine Japanese optical engineering.
Kowa BD-XD 8x56 DCF binoculars 2 XD-lenses are utilized in the objective end of the binocular. This significantly reduces chromatic aberration and provides high contrast in the field of view.
Ultra Close Focus of just 1.5m
Decades of optical innovation, development and technology has resulted in a binocular with an ultra close focus of 1.5m. Ideal for observation of plants, insects and other close range subjects.
Light weight magnesium alloy body
A new lighter, yet ultra rugged magnesium alloy body means the new BD model can endure the most severe weather conditions whilst still remaining light weight and portable.
Wider Field of View
The new BD56 PROMINAR provides a wider field of view by approximately 20%. (8x model, compared to our previous BD range).
The compact body of the BD56 PROMINAR Series is equivalent in length to a 32mm class binocular. The binocular is extremely easy to handle and carry but provides all the extra resolution gathering power of a 56mm model.
Stylish and ergonomic
A modern, stylish and tactile body make the New BD binocular a joy to hold and use. The perfect balance of practicality and design.
All lenses have multilayer coating so you that you attain a wider field of view
One of the major causes of deterioration in optics viewing quality is chromatic aberration (colour blur). Chromatic aberration occurs due to the dispersion of light and the different wavelengths of light focusing on different positions, resulting in red or purple fringes around the image. The optimum optical material to minimise chromatic aberration is fluorite crystal.
A fluorite crystal with extremely low dispersion characteristics is used for the convex lens of the KWA-G8544/G10544 PROMINAR models. Instead of an ordinary optical glass lens, the concave lens paired with the fluorite crystal lens is made of glass with special dispersion properties to reduce the chromatic aberration to a further degree. This combination of fluorite crystal and glass with special dispersion properties nearly eliminates chromatic aberration and redefines the standards of colour brilliance.
This technology is the result of many years of optical design, and has greatly reduced chromatic aberration, while maintaining a large diameter lens and high contrast images when compared with conventional models.
The XD lens used in the KWA-G8544/G10544 PROMINAR models has characteristics similar to those of fluorite crystal to significantly reduce the chromatic aberration. All lenses are environmentally friendly Eco-Glass. (Eco-Glass is an environmentally friendly glass that does not contain lead or other harmful substances.)
