Details
The Yukon 5x42 Night Vision Binocular Digital NV Ranger Pro is a vivid example of successful application of digital technologies in observation optics. Currently this is the ultimate night vision digital device. The Ranger Pro features impressive 5-power magnification and large viewing range – up to 600 metres. This is due to a highly sensitive CCD array and new Sum Light tm software technology employed in the Ranger Pro device.

The Ranger Pro 5x42 can surely compete with the Gen.2 in image sharpness and brightness. The image transmitted to the monochrome LCD display is crisp and sharp on the entire field of view. The device is able to capture effectively the light flux of a wide wave range in conditions of natural night illumination. To conduct observation on a cloudy moonless night, the adjustable IR illuminator can be used. The wave length amounts to 940nm (remote area of the IR range, invisible to the human eye) – the observer is “invisible” even if the unit is used in the active mode. The built-in video output allows transferring of the image to a monitor or a TV set which facilitates long-time stationary viewing, and video recording to external recording devices.

Video output
The built-in video output enables image transmission and video recording on peripheral equipment (monitor etc.) while carrying out stationary or mobile observations.

Sum Light Technology
SumLight system of light accumulation allows use of the Ranger Pro even at critically low levels of night illumination.

Brightness Adjustment Wheel
Image produced by the Ranger Pro is shown on the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). Manual adjustment of LCD brightness is operated with the adjustment wheel.

Power Supply
The Ranger Pro can operate on external power sources such as vehicle's or stationary power grid (the device is equipped with a special output for that) or independently on AA batteries/rechargeable batteries.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:
I am after some night vision IR video equipment to video bird behaviour on the beach. I like the look of the Yukon 5x42 Night Vision Binocular NV Ranger Pro. Because the birds are small I think I would need higher magnification. Are there any magnification attachments you could use with this device, or anything similar with video that has higher magnification. I have a budget of $4000.00.
A:
Of the night vision options we have on offer, the Yukon 5x42 Night Vision Binocular Digital NV Ranger Pro is definitely the best option. This is a Digital night vision device, which means that the image will be displayed in black and white as opposed to green, and will produce a much brighter image then a 1st generation night vision device. It offers the greatest viewing range of any of the products we have listed, and it is also compatible with the Video Kit which is included with the 5x42 Digital NV Ranger Video Kit (which I believe the kit can be purchased separately).

Did you want to actively observe the birds yourself, our would you prefer a monitoring device such as a Trail Camera? Some of the trail cameras we offer are quite handy for monitoring activity over long periods of time. Many of the cameras will activate only when movement is dedicated to conserve battery power. You can also view video footage directly on the trail camera themselves.

I recommend looking at something like the Bushnell Trophy Cam XLT 5MP Brown Night Vision with Viewer which can be found on our website here:
