ED - or Extra Low-Dispersion Glass - does away with chromatic aberration, the spectrums of light that form around the edges of the image when viewing under bright conditions. This ensures completely corrected, crystal clear gazing - giving you almost no false colour at all!

It's large aperture size of 50mm also ensures that you get extremeley bright and sharp images, all the way to the very edges of the frame.
