The Skywatcher 200mm Solar Filter for Reflector Telescopes allows you to view the sun and solar phenomena safely. Attach it to the front of your telescope tube and cover the entire tube opening to ensure that all the harmful components of the sun’s rays are filtered.

Baader’s Astro Solar Safety Film performs as well as high quality plane-parallel glass filters due to the layer of metal coatings are uniformly distributed along both sides of the film’s surface. This ensures good color balance and the sun can then be viewed in its state of natural white light.

The Skywatcher 200mm Solar Filter, allows you to see the details in sunspots, bright faculae near the limb and the mottled areas known as granules. These filters enable the safe viewing of our sun. The sun is one of the most interesting objects in the sky and with a solar filter, you will be able to learn more about this star.

This filter is durable and safe. It will transmit only 1/100,000 of visible light. The film significantly decreases harmful ultraviolet rays and infrared light. Baader Astro Solar film has also been declared safe for direct solar viewing by the German National Bureau of Standards for eye safety.

Before conducting any form of solar viewing or observation, always double check to make sure that the film on your filter is not damaged or torn. Click here to read our guide for more information on how to view the Sun safely.

Couldn't be happier with this product, imaged the sun the day after it arrived and even got to show a few kids walking past what sun spots look like..

anyone that has a Celestron C8 N-GT this filter clicks in perfectly no chance of it falling off.
