Great first telescope - Review by Robert White
Great first telescope. I can see i will be wanting a bigger aperture in the near future. It was easy to setup and get looking at the moon the first night. The delivery was very fast as well. Absolutely would recommend to anyone interested in star gazing.

I couldn't believe just how quick the delivery was! I managed to see the moon last night and the product proved to be a lot better than I had expected. Just brilliant! Pretty much made my day :)

A Great First Scope - Review by Andrew Sullivan
The instrument arrived in very good time and in excellent condition. Setting up was easy with the clear step-by-step instructions illustrated with good quality photographs.
First light was about 30 minutes later after I had roughly aligned the mount. We observed Sol by projection onto a clipboard. Three sunspots on the limb (not sure which!) greeted us. Terrestrial viewing was clear and crisp.
Suburban Geelong has positively stinking seeing but the moon was absolutely awesome! I won't relate other observations until I've tried it on our dark sky rural block. (Posted on Feb 09, 2012)

11 / 10 - Review by Andrew
The instrument arrived surprisingly quickly, in good condition and ruggedly packaged. Setting up was almost a no-brainer with the clear instructions and colour photographs. First light was a projected image of the sun, showing great detail on a hand-held target.
Seeing in suburban Geelong is horrible but Luna, Venus and Jupiter showed beautifully later that night.
When we observe from our rural property I'll post an update. (Posted on Feb 08, 2012)

Very Happy - Review by Caroline Le Sueur
We are loving the product although have had a bit of trouble getting it to focus, persistence seems to be the key. Fingers crossed for some more clear nights!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
What is the warranty on the celestron telescopes?
A:
All Celestron telescopes come with a 2-year warranty. They are sent back to Sydney, NSW for any warranty procedures. Just FYI, Saxon has 3 years warranty and Skywatcher 3 years as well.
Q:
Hi there, I bought the Celestron Astromatser 114 and have been able to sight the moon, would love to see it closer. Can you recommend any accessories that will help me do that?
A:
Higher magnification eyepieces will give you a closer look at the moon! For this particular scope, a 6mm eyepiece would be best.
Alternatively, you can look at getting a barlow lens and using it in conjunction with your existing eyepieces, to either double or triple the magnification.
