    Pulsar Quantum XD19S Thermal Imaging Monocular

    The Pulsar Quantum XD19S Thermal Imaging Monocular is a cutting edge thermal imaging solution that surpasses the challenges faced by traditional low-light and night vision cameras. It’s designed to let you see through fog, smoke or light brush and you can use it in total darkness without the need for an IR illuminator.

    The Thermal Imaging Advantage
    Thermal imaging has an advantage over traditional low-light or night vision devices since it doesn’t need any light to operate. Traditional night vision devices work because they are able to use very tiny amounts of reflected light or IR light to form images. Thermal imaging doesn’t need light because it reads the heat signature of an object and the surroundings. Its microbolometer is able to form images from the tiny difference in temperature between objects. That data is then processed to produce detailed and high contrast images.

    Colour Palettes
    Quantum XDS offers a choice of 6 colour palettes for captured by objective lens image, monochrome (usual "hot white", "hot black") and colour highlighting the hottest and coldest areas with different colours.

    Rangefinding Reticle
    Quantum XDS has a stadiametric rangefinder performed in the shape of rangefinding reticle which enables distance measuring to observed objects with known height (deer - 1.7m; boar - 0.7m; hare - 0.3m) with a sufficient precision.

    Long Viewing Range
    Actual detection range of a human figure (1.8x0.5m) in the field (human has outerwear, in the field against forest background) for the Quantum XDS varies from 500 to 1250 m, depending on the model.

    Display OFF
    Users are able to temporarily stop observation via the use of 'Display OFF' function. This function provides the necessary level of camouflage (no light from the eyepiece of the device) between observation sessions as well as the fast restart of observation (when display is turned off, all other systems are working; for normal operation it is enough just to power on the display again).

    The Quantum suggests three calibration modes: silent manual mode ("M"), automatic ("A") and semiautomatic ("H"). The "A" mode implies calibration without user participation (process initiation (acutation of the shutter) takes place automatically). In the "H" mode the user decides on his own if calibration is required based on the image quality. Button "Cal" is pressed in this mode. Manual calibration ("M") is carried out by pressing the button when the lens cap is closed. The "M" mode is ideal for hunting due to silent operation.

    Power Saving Mode
    Power saving can be set by disabling the video output module in the Quantum S series thermal scopes. This helps to increase self-contained operating time on a set of batteries or external power supply.

    Quick Start-Up Time
    The Quantum thermal scope series features short start-up time of up to 5 - 7 seconds from the push of a button to full operation status. It is considered to be among the top in its class.

    Operating Modes
    The Quantum XDS suggests three operating modes, each designed to deliver best possible image in specific viewing conditions. The modes are as follows: "City" (enhanced contrast), "Forest" (low contrast) and "Identification" (improved rendering of hot objects' details).

    Image Processing Power
    The image that is generated by the sensor and onboard software can be further fine-tuned using easy to operate buttons on the unit’s top. You can also choose between “White hot” or “Black hot” modes. Whatever mode you chose, you can be sure that the image produced on the OLED display and on video output is consistent across the entire field of view.

    Video Output
    All Quantum models are equipped with analog video output to enable connection of external recording equipment or transmitting image to the display.

    The body of fiberglass reinforced plastic is able to effectively withstand impact, moisture and dust which allows the units to be used in extreme conditions. The rubber armouring ensures secure grip.

    Operating Temperature
    The Quantum thermal scope series are equipped with frost-resistant OLED display employed in the unit and is thus effective in low temperatures up to -25°C.

    Your Pulsar product is covered by a 3 year warranty on mechanical parts (eye piece, lenses, adjustment knobs and on/off switch), night vision intensifier tubes, digital CCD chips and the CMOS chip. In the event of a defect under this warranty, Pulsar will either repair or replace the product (at their own option). This warranty does not cover damages caused by misuse or improper handling. Also, this warranty is null and void if modification or maintenance is provided by someone other than Pulsar.
