Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
Does the Nikkon Monarch 10x42 com with aaron accessory for mounting on a tripod?
A:
Unfortunately, the Nikon does not come with any adapters to attach it to a Tripod. What you will need is a Tripod Adapter (http://www.ozscopes.com.au/saxon-tripod-adaptor-for-binoculars.html) which can be purchased separately.
Q:
How do the Nikon MonarchDCF 10 x 42 and the Bushnell Legend Ultra Hd 191042 compare? esp for birdwatching and with wearing spectacles?
A:
Between the Nikon Monarch and the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD, there are a few differences:
- The Bushnell has a shorter/closer close focus distance (1.9m) whereas the Nikon's is 2.5m. This is something you might find crucial for you for birdwatching.
- The Bushnell binoculars are also fully multi-coated with Rainguard water-repellent coating, whereas the Nikon is only multi-coated.
- In terms of eye relief, which is what is important for eyeglass-wearers, the Nikon one is longer (18.5mm) and therefore better than the Bushnell's (15.2mm). The ideal eye relief for eyeglass wearers is about 16mm to 18mm.
- Bushnell has a larger field of view than the Nikon
Based on these differences I do think that the Bushnell ones are better in comparison. The Bushnell's eye relief may be shorter but it is still sufficient for eyeglass wearers. In terms of optical quality, it seems like Bushnell will be better for birdwatching.
