PYREX GLASS ON THE 12"
The Saxon 12” Dobsonian features a primary mirror made of Pyrex glass. Because of its very low coefficient of thermal expansion, Pyrex glass is less affected by changing temperatures. This greatly reduces the cooling time of a telescope larger than 10” in diameter without using an extra fan. The great stability of this low expansion glass ensures high quality images. It is also substantially more resistant to scratching then plate glass.
*Please note, the image through all finder scopes will be upside down.

The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I was able to align the finder scope with the telescope during the day time without issue but to date have not had a single clear night to check out the skies! The daylight image while setting up the finder scope was clear and the unit easy to use. (Posted on Jun 29, 2011)
