Good value for the price - Review by Barry Sexstone
Overall Score
Although at the bottom end of the price bracket for a reasonable spotting scope this has fulfilled my requirements reasonably well. There is a little chromatic distortion at the higher magnifications and the tripod attachment allows for a little shake but generally a good buy. (Posted on 23/12/11)

Pros: light, price, portability

Ideal scope for apartments - Review by Steve
Overall Score
Bought this for our apartment on the 18th floor and its perfect for spying!
Down side as with all scopes is poor image at the far end of the zoom. Blurs and you can see the purple fringing.
Tend to have it on the wide end anyway.

Looks great, can permanently have it as a feature in the living area.
Would recommend it. (Posted on 23/09/11)

Pros: light, easy to carry, user friendly, great first telescope

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:
Could you please recommend a floor tripod for this model?
A:
For the spotting scope, which weighs just about 1kg, I'd recommend the tripods below.

These two are the standard tripods that will be able to support the weight:
Optex OPH-2440 http://www.ozscopes.com.au/optex-oph-2440-tripod-with-two-way-pan-head.html $149.95
SAXON HVT10 http://www.ozscopes.com.au/saxon-hvt10-heavy-duty-tripod-for-binoculars-cameras-and-spotting-scopes.html $149.95

These two are heavier duty if you want something much sturdier:
Optex OPH-2839 http://www.ozscopes.com.au/optex-oph-2839-heavy-duty-tripod-with-two-way-pan-head.html $219.95
SAXON HVT11 http://www.ozscopes.com.au/heavy-duty-tripod-saxon-hvt11.html $189.00
