Details
The Celestron SkyProdigy 130 Computerised Reflector Telescope is all you need in a telescope and more. This smart scope was created from decades of optical research and enhancements, combining electronic motors, intelligent on-board computer, a digital camera (for alignment) and Celestron's proprietary automatic alignment technology, StarSense. For anyone hoping to get a wholistic starter telescope for astronomical observations, the Celestron SkyProdigy 130 Computerised Telescope has it all.

The SkyProdigy 130 Computerised Telescope's 130mm (5.12in) aperture offers strong light gathering abilities to produce bright images and the clarity you need to view a range of deep sky objects. It's computerised AZ mount is installed with over 4000 celestial objects, and comes with a heavy duty steel mount to support your telescope and for durability in a range of environments.

Featuring all the right options you need as an astronomer, its no wonder this telescope has won the Design & Engineering Showcase Honors in 2011 and the Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Awards in 2011.

Good but sensitive - Review by Kim Flint
Overall Score
Very hard to auto locate position with passing light sources such as car headlights. Uses a LOT of battery power. Rechargable D Batteries hard to get in high power. (Posted on 7/03/12)

Pros: light, easy to carry, price

Good but sensitive - Review by Michael Flint
Overall Score
The Star Finder alignment process is extremely sensitive to passing light sources such as cars. Try to find a completely dark place and then it works beautifully. The batteries are hard to get in rechargeables and the power draw is very high. My A batteries in a D adapter only lasted about 15 minutes! Had to buy alkalines. (Posted on 6/03/12)

Pros: light, easy to carry, price, great first telescope
