Ok, but needed adjusting before use - Review by

Bought these as a birthday present and decided to test them before actually giving them away. Sure glad I did!

On first use the image was doubled and blurred, I repeatedly went through the steps outlined in the instructions to focus correctly but nothing worked. Was very disappointed and considered returning them as faulty. However I did a quick search and found this to be a common problem. I managed to fix the double image by tightening two screens which sit under the rubberized skin near the eye pieces.

Since then they have been ok to use but I still expected the image to be clearer and I thought they would have been more powerful (magnification wise). The recipient seems to like them though. These are used for terrestrial observing.

    Very pleased. - Review by

I live in a good observing area, the Pilbara Western Australia, and I already have a 12 * Newtonian. It's a great telescope, but sometimes I don't want to go to the effort of setting it up, so the binoculars are an easy intermdiate level of observing between my eyes and telescope.

Very pleased, I should have purchased these along time ago!

Great Binos.for Astro and land use. - Review by

For their price and size this is a great set of binos. The feel and finish of these binos is excellent.
With 2x 80mm lens's it can gather more light than a lot of the smaller telescopes, while being a lot more portable.
Having the built in tripod adaptor is handy, as while they are somewhat light it is very easy to get the "shakes" as most of the weight is at the lens end. You will see a marked improvement when using a tripod.
I have put them on a tripod with a motor drive and this combination works quite well.
The lens shrouds are threaded so you could add a filter if you can find one big enough, I found that viewing the moon can be too bright and a moon filter would be nice.

Cons: May encourage you to buy a big telescope!

A great tool for star gazing - Review by

This a great buy for scouting the night sky. Has a large 80mm objective lens that picks up faint objects and large FOV that makes it easy to detect where you are.
Will get the shakes if observing for a while, or trying to see detail on the moon and planets. A tripod would be handy.
Focus control is nice and smooth.

I am very happy with set of binos, I have a smaller set that do not come close to he celestron binos 20 x 80. I will use them to observe stars and to support fire watching in our district.

    FAQ

    Q:
Where can I buy these binos for $250?
    A:
Unfortunately, our best price for the Skymaster 20x80 Binoculars is $429.95. For something closer to $250, I would recommend going for the Saxon 20x80 (http://www.ozscopes.com.au/night-binoculars-saxon-20x80r.html) which have the same Magnification and Objective lens size.
    Q:
I was just wondering if I could buy filters for this (Celestron 20x80mm) binocular? For instance a moon filter.
    A:
Unfortunately, we do not have any filters for Binoculars. The only filters we have available are for Telescopes.
