On first use the image was doubled and blurred, I repeatedly went through the steps outlined in the instructions to focus correctly but nothing worked. Was very disappointed and considered returning them as faulty. However I did a quick search and found this to be a common problem. I managed to fix the double image by tightening two screens which sit under the rubberized skin near the eye pieces.
Since then they have been ok to use but I still expected the image to be clearer and I thought they would have been more powerful (magnification wise). The recipient seems to like them though. These are used for terrestrial observing. (Posted on Nov 30, 2014)
Very pleased, I should have purchased these along time ago! (Posted on Jul 14, 2011)
Pros: portability, user friendly, Good price
With 2x 80mm lens's it can gather more light than a lot of the smaller telescopes, while being a lot more portable.
Having the built in tripod adaptor is handy, as while they are somewhat light it is very easy to get the "shakes" as most of the weight is at the lens end. You will see a marked improvement when using a tripod.
I have put them on a tripod with a motor drive and this combination works quite well.
The lens shrouds are threaded so you could add a filter if you can find one big enough, I found that viewing the moon can be too bright and a moon filter would be nice. (Posted on Feb 14, 2011)
Pros: user friendly, Decent glass, Positive adjustments, portable, great first telescope, quality +++, Beautifully crisp image!
Cons: May encourage you to buy a big telescope!
Good company excellent sevice. (Posted on Feb 01, 2011)
Pros: light, easy to carry, price, portability, light weight, Accurate, user friendly, Good price, Decent glass, Positive adjustments, portable, quality +++
Cons: tripod quality
Will get the shakes if observing for a while, or trying to see detail on the moon and planets. A tripod would be handy.
Focus control is nice and smooth. (Posted on Jan 24, 2011)
